These Tags Hurt Me Deep Inside.

Mama Fusla seems to take pleasure in tagging me. Don't worry, MamaF, I'm definitely meeting you next time I'm in Kuwait, then we'll see who tags who!

Seven things I plan to do:

1-Get my PhD.
2-Vote and vote, and vote some more.
3-Write a book.
4-Meet a Kuwaiti man who's as accepting as my brother.
5-Get an apartment on Freedom Ship for a few years to see the world.
6-Gain immortality.
7-Die happy.

Seven things I can do:

1-Speak three languages.
2-Listen (it's very difficult, I assure you).
3-Blend well into two very different cultures.
4-Tell the difference between what's wrong and right without falling back on cultural or religious influences (those rarely help anyway).
5-Accept anyone for who and what they are.
6-Shoot a mean arrow (archery is fun).
7-Tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

Seven things I can't do:

1-Be a respectable Kuwaiti girl.
3-Obey someone through sheer faith and conviction.
4-Marry under false pretences (came close, but couldn't do it).
5-Allow people to convince me that I lost my self-respect.
6-Be patient with religious fanatics.
7-Argue my case convincingly.

Seven things I say most often:

1- "Ok, so I'm a Bitchass Bitch."
2- "That's insane!"
3- "7abibti/7abibi"
4- "Fucktard/Fuckwit."
5-"Bes khalas."
6- "I would tell you, but you'll love me a little less."
7- "That being said.."

Seven people I want to pass this tag to:
Don't know anyone well enough to pass this to. The vicious cycle stops here!

Be a respectable Kuwaiti girl!
hahahah YOU HAVE OUTDONE yourself.

Maybe I could teach you heeeh yeah right!
Respectable is one thing, n giving a rats ass is another. You are respectable in my book, burn the rest ;)

Respectable Kuwaiti girls are overrated.

waterlilie Fair enough, you got me there :)

delicate and I, you. That's the object of the game as miss waterlilie pointed out to me :)

mama fusla Unfortunately, one needs to give a rats ass in order to be respectable :) Sometimes I do give a rat's ass, if only out of consideration for my parents. They're the only reason I'm not a complete social outcast.

shewrites I admire most respectable girls for their patience with our society. It's the hypocrites who I worry about. I may not be respectable but I'll never pretend to be righteous or judge another girl for the choices she makes (unless she's being a complete moron, then it's best to keep quiet and walk away).

I'm finally figured out the balance. I've struck a deal with my parents, they don't get into my business and expect me to be attending any ultra-boring redundant social functions. However: if someone gets sick or passes away..I'm the 1st they can call! I can handle it from A2Z.

doesn't sound like you're self-content.

mama fusla Well, going to most family functions doesn't bother me. I'm talking about bigger issues like marrying who I want, moving out and living on my own (preferably in another country), being able to have platonice relationships with men without having to worry about upsetting my parents, being able to come and go as I please like my brother, being happy as a single woman without my family treating me as if I'm a freak of nature. That's some of the stuff, but you get the idea.

geo There's something about living on a ship that excites me. I mean, a floating city? That beats backpacking any day of the week. Besides, I'm a bit too old for youth hostels.

shadyq80 Ah, isn't that always the case? I'm mostly content with myself, but I'm not complacent. Complacency is boring.

heh.. I was just about to say that respectibility is overrated and noticed someone else did..
Well.. it's also a complete bore ..and utter waste of the potential to be a kickass woman with an actual personality!

As for the morons.. sometimes I point and laugh just to amuse myself..

unknown welcome back, and I'm very flattered that you read it all the way through and very pleased that it cracked you up :)

sheba Thanks, it took me a few years to realize that. Good to know you're ahead of the game :)

Hey, hey, I can blend in 2 cultures too! Well, if I could speak Lebanese, and didn't have blonde hair, and... OK, nevermind, I can barely blend in in America, lol.

Which 3 languages do you speak? Arabic English.. Spanish?

5:21 PM
Blogger McArabian said...

Heh, you can probably blend in Europe. I speak French, though I can't write it to save my life.

That ship... is awesome. But I'm not quite sure how one can circle the globe by hugging shoreline. Wouldn't you have to cross open seas, going really, really slow?

And I suppose you're speaking of "immortality" in the writer or artist sense? Maybe you'll become immortalized as the world's greatest, trilingual archer.

Blogger McArabian said...

bitzer I think it circumnavigates the earth once every two years. So it's pretty slow, giving people ample time to get off the ship in planes or boats to visit whichever country is closest. I'm sure they have it all worked out :)

Also, I doubt I'm that good at archery. Good enough to hurt someone, but not to break any records. I'm hoping to gain immortality by doing something weird, like downloading myself into the INTRAWEB by 2050.

1) PhD in what?
2) Comment parle tu francais?

1) English Literature.

2) Pas mal: je parle bien, j'ecris mal.
